Visual identity for the summer events of Teurastamo
Helsinki City Premises Ltd, owned by the City of Helsinki, leases out and develops the city’s culturally and historically significant premises, areas and trading posts. One of the areas is Teurastamo, a quaint centre of urban and culinary culture in Kalasatama, Helsinki. This former abattoir currently houses a wide variety of fascinating restaurants and unique small-scale production facilities: an ice cream factory, a bakery, a distillery, a coffee roastery, an art gallery and shops. The heart of the area is its atmospheric and inviting urban yard that is open to all people in Helsinki. To liven up the summer season, a program of events were planned for the area, which included, among other things, live gigs by emerging artists, dancing, and DJ nights. We designed the visual look for the summer 2024 events.

The visual identity for summer 2024 was built upon Teurastamo’s existing brand elements, including its logo, typography, and colors. Our task was to develop a version of the identity that could visually and attractively communicate the summer program. To achieve this, we created an extensive library of illustrations where flowers, drawn in various styles, take over the surfaces of the applications. This rich and wild visual world not only reflects Teurastamo’s raw and lively atmosphere but also represents the diverse and vibrant program, adding a summery touch to the identity. In line with the visual concept, we designed event posters, animated social media videos, and other necessary marketing materials.
