Design Driven City is an initiative that aims to bring design and the public sector closer to one another.
Design Driven City is a two-year initiative carrying the legacy of World Design Capital Helsinki 2012, with the aim to bring design and the public sector closer to one another. Design Driven City advises, networks, fosters participation, and develops both cities and designers.
Design Driven City strengthens the use of design in city development initiatives and supports these with know-how and expertise. City Designers, Design Driven City’s own design experts, play a key role in this exchange. Design Driven City also educates the public sector on the significance of design and participates in public discourse through various communication activities.
Kokoro & Moi is responsible for the Design Driven City identity, as well as the art direction and design of the online presence and printed matter. The identity incorporates design elements of World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 – including the extensive color palette representing openness and inclusiveness, with a focus on a functional and effective design. The logotype continues the focus on design-driven functionality, drawing its inspiration from the world of flow charts and diagrams.
